Welcome to Brydges Guesthouse, Hastings, a recently renovated Edwardian home in the heart of the seaside town of Hastings and close to many of the local attractions. 


Comprising four floors completely refurbished and sympathetically styled in 2019 to provide an ambience of Edwardian grandeur combined with all the modern conveniences required by the more discerning guest. The recent build project has ensured a contemporary twist on the traditional classic Edwardian style, bringing you a unique and individual approach for each room - style and warmth characterise every aspect of Brydges from the light and subtle decor to the quality white linen and towels. 


There is a spacious garden terrace ideal for barbeques, a rarity so close to the town yet the property is only minutes from the beach, many great shops, bars, restaurants and the theatre.


The magnificent Edwardian building with high ceilings, ornate wood panelling, working sash windows and spacious rooms with a magnificent original staircase leading up to a spacious two bedroom apartment on each floor. From entrance hall to rooms that range, in size and facilities, Brydges offers something to suit everyone. 


Brydges is easily accessible by car from all the main routes into Hastings and is located just minutes away from Hastings Train Station.  


A family owned business, Brydges is a place where guests’ comfort and enjoyment really matters. Stephen J Brock is the hotel’s General Manager. Stephen holds a degree in Business Administration with honours gained through Manchester Metropolitan University. He brings with him prior experience from private hotels, Le Meridian and De Vere hotels alongside an excellent history of customer care, guest relations and front of house services.

COVID-19

The coronavirus epidemic plainly poses an exceptionally serious global problem. The safety and well-being of our customers and staff is our utmost priority at Brydges and we're continuing to follow official guidance from the UK Government and Public Health England carefully. 


We have placed precautionary measures in place, including:


Hand Sanitiser at the main entrance & in rooms. 


Increased cleaning policies, paying particular attention to hand contact points.  


Introduced a temporary ban on access to the communal lounge and garden space. 


Stopped provision of breakfast. 


Disinfectant spray for each apartment kitchen. 


Self-check-in (key drop box for day of departure). 


Removed staffing from Reception, information leaflets and maps. 


No servicing of rooms within 12 hours (where possible) of occupancy. 


Closed down our two individual bedrooms, providing only apartments at present. 


Removed all brochures, pens, stationary and sweets from rooms. 


Removed all decorative bed throws and cushions from rooms. 


Removed Plastic glasses from bathrooms.


Removed all toiletries/toothbrushes, with the exception of hand soap. 


Safe removal of linen from rooms and apartments 12 hours after check-out.

Spacious Rooms

During your stay at Brydges, you’ll be taken back to the time of traditional Edwardian features, as you relax in one of the eight individually characterised bedrooms which include modern facilities and spacious surroundings. 


Contemporary style is teamed with the Edwardian traditional features retained to provide a unique and interesting guest experience whilst away from home. All rooms benefit from high ceilings with wood flooring and some with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the garden terrace.  


The property has just been completely refurbished with 3 self-catering apartments and two individual en-suite bedrooms as well as a garden terrace for guests to enjoy. The rooms have power showers, complimentary Wi-Fi, large comfortable beds, high quality linen and towels whilst each apartment also offers a compact kitchenette with microwave, hob, kettle & toaster alongside a good range of cooking utensils and equipment.  


The property does not offer parking, however, parking is available off-site in an outdoor or indoor parking lot for a small charge. We can provide driving instructions if required.


All rooms are completely non-smoking. Check in is from 15:00 pm and check out is 11:00 am - bags can be securely stored if required.



Brydges is approx 20 minutes walk from the Old Town and Castle area or approx 5-10 minutes by car and very close to Hastings Train Station, a modern town centre and the seafront.  


If requested, your stay can be made extra special for you by front of house arranging for champagne, chocolates and flowers upon your arrival.

Exceptional

Professional staff, very clean and well situated within walking distance to Hastings station and the Town Centre. Well presented and welcoming.

To be fair there is nothing I can say I didn’t like since every thing met our needs and expectations.

Great place

We stayed in the Townhouse apartment. Brydges has very good location, immaculately clean, nice decor, all kitchen equipment you may ever need, very good service.
Little touches, such children’s DVD’s and a player, pot of jelly beans delivered to our door on discovery that we have a little one. Will definitely recommend and return.
